#pushpush

On this coming Father’s Day weekend (June 18-20) I’ll be riding 100 km’s in an effort to raise awareness and support for our five BCMB camps – Camp Bob, Gardom Lake, Camp Likely, Pines and Stillwood.

Quite simply most of our camps continue to be in a very challenging financial position due to Covid-19.  Our main source of revenue comes from having children and youth stay overnight – which hasn’t happened for over a year.  We are very excited with the latest news from our provincial health officer that the overnight restriction on summer camps has been lifted and are currently waiting for updated guidelines before making any decisions to run overnight camps.  However, this exciting news also puts additional pressure on us financially as we make an effort to ramp up our staff, fire up our freezers, and order food.  Normally we have a bit of a “stockpile” in our cash reserves this time of year, but welcoming overnight campers will be a significant financial challenge on our already depleted resources.

In the meantime, we will continue with our current plan of running day camps, family camps and family rentals.  Even though this summer will (again) look different than normal, we fully expect to see lives transformed as we share the life changing Good News of Jesus Christ with our campers and guests.

Your donation will go directly to helping our camps remain solvent as you partner with us in our summer ministry.  I want to acknowledge and say thanks again to many of you who helped us out this past year.  I don’t think in our wildest dreams any of our camps anticipated struggling for this long!

I have rounded up a few others who are passionate about summer ministry that will be joining me June 18 – 20 #ridin4camps.  We are all picking our own routes and will be riding a combined 1,300 km.  A big thanks to:

Mitch “K2” Kroeker  Dave “Rusty” Fawcett  Ron “Clark Kent” Suderman  James Dick  Jacquie Dick  Mike “Kato” Kato  Gord Ratzlaff  Amanda “Staccato” Ratzlaff  Nick “Zamboni” Ratzlaff

Willy Fast  Fred Fast  Tyler “Schulzy” Schulz

Thanks so much for your support and we would appreciate your continued prayers.
